"Illusions: The Adventures of a Reluctant Messiah" was the book that really got me thinking outside the WT "box". I read JLSG shortly after that. I have enjoyed all of his books immensly. I recently re-read "Illusions" again. 30 years has given it an interesting perspective.

by justhuman ini recall it was one of the first books that i started to read on my way out of the wt process...it was just an amazing book...i have seen also the film and the music by neil diamond it is superb.... in fact the first person that introduce me to read this book was my spiritual guider...in christian orthodox church we choose a guider in our christian life...he guides and helps to reach christian enlightment and holyness through jesus...it was the first book he asked to me read...i was supprised since the christian orthodox church has a wealth of writtings from the early church fathers, saints and apostolic writtings.. indeed the book show me to find my self, my powers, and to be free spirit.. simply perfect.

Asked a deep question to my father last night

Coming up on one year on the forum..what I've learned/Thanks

i remember when i first started posting here, almost one year ago...i had just written letters to evey jw i could find telling them what a bunch of bs the jws were.... most wanted to kill me, including my dad, who called me a fornicator, and called all my friends wanting to know what drug i was on.... i learned that jws will always try and find wrongs in the character who's showing the inconsistiancies, they never will listen to what you're saying just attack your character.
but there have been a few that i've reached; some have even taken a stand with me.. i also learned that people have different circumstances, that i shouldn't judge those that don't take a stand.

god post, man. I was feeling a bit down and you put things into perspective for me. I am so happy for you that you had the chance and strength to walk away while young. You have your life ahead of you, you can make a difference. I did not get out until I was in my late 40s. That was when I got on the net and was shocked and relieved to *finally* realize that I was not the only one who could see the bullshit.

I'm not still in and i do not speak for anyone but myself. The end came for me with unqualified janitors, window washers and car salesmen with AT MOST a G12 education making life impacting decisions for those in their charge. The way out has been a very long and complex road for me, but unqualified mouthbreathing morons in positions of authority was the last straw.
